Good Monday morning.  Clouds start off this week of January 2020.  Rain showers possible by afternoon.  Winds out of the South at 10-15 mph.  Highs in the low 50s and lows in the upper 40s.  Sounds like January weather!  If you missed the latest issue of Coos County Cops, it has been posted.  Just continue on to my website, click on “Publications” and you’ll find the current January 2020 issue as well as previous issues.  Feel free to share with others who want to stay up on crime and law enforcement in our community.  In our news, some road work to kickoff this New Year in Coos Bay.  Motorists should note the impacted routes.  Work also set to begin this month on the Governor Patterson Bridge at Gold Beach. New Year’s Resolutions.  Did they include a healthier body?  Well, CBPL might be able to help you with that Resolution this month.  They have some healthy samples.  Water line flushing time for CB-NB Water Board.  More than half of the visits to Emergency Rooms in Oregon last month were due to the Flu.  It is still here, take precautions.  USCG busy around Astoria this past weekend.  Sailboat rescue at Cape Disappointment, and then a rescue at a Pier.  Local police logs show warrant arrests, trespassers, UEMV, using a pellet gun on street lights is a no-no, Disorderly, & harassment charges.  In sports, prep schedules for this week for both NBHS & MHS.  Prep basketball results for the Bulldogs on Saturday.  SWOCC drops NWAC openers in Gresham.  Ducks and Beaver men gets splits, while the women get sweeps in Pac-12 basketball openers.  And, the Seahawks, one of three NFL teams to win on the road in the playoffs this weekend.  They’ll head to Green Bay on Sunday.  Have a great Monday.  Don’t forget the Coos Co.
