CBPD release – A Coos Bay male was arrested on multiple charges after he burglarized and stole Oregon Lottery tickets from the Englewood Market. On April 27, 2024, at approximately 02:15 a.m., the Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD) received a report of an alarm at Englewood Market, 1434 Southwest Blvd., Coos Bay. When CBPD officers arrived, they found the market’s front glass door broken and signs of a burglary. The business owners provided video footage of a man breaking through the glass door and taking property from inside the store. Officers obtained a description of the suspect and specific details about the stolen items from the owners, including many serialized Oregon Lottery tickets. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. Nearby businesses that accept lottery tickets for redemption were contacted and instructed to notify CBPD if anyone tried to cash in an unusual number of lottery tickets. Following the burglary, the CBPD began receiving information and tips on the burglar’s identity, mainly due to the videos and images of the suspect circulating on social media. This information included the name of the suspect, who was later confirmed as 34-year-old Brandon Lorenzi of Coos Bay. Lorenzi was arrested the day after the incident after a citizen recognized him walking in Coos Bay. At the time of his arrest, Lorenzi was wearing some of the same clothes he had been wearing during the burglary. He also had some of the stolen Oregon Lottery tickets. Lorenzi was transported to the Coos County Jail and lodged on the below listed charges: • Burglary 2; Criminal Mischief 1; • Theft 2; • Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
