Eric Boyles Art Exhibit at North Bend Public Library, July 14

The landscape paintings of Eric Broyles are on display at the North Bend Public Library until July 31. The artist’s paintings of mountains, lakes, rivers and the ocean shimmer with the beauty of natural light. Broyles says his “landscapes and seascapes are expressions of light and reflection and are generated from memories of his travels to tranquil Stewart Lake in British Columbia, and from years spent living on the coasts of Oregon and Washington.” Broyles is a proponent of the “wet on wet” technique, using oil on canvas, painting a layer, letting it dry, and repeating that process. He usually paints the entire painting in one sitting, starting with a firm paint, then layering softer and more fluid paints on top of the thicker background, working forward while all paints are wet until completion in 2 – 3 hours. This art show is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the library at 541-756-0400.
