McMinnville, Oregon, March 18, 2020 – In order to protect the health and safety of guests, staff, and volunteers in support of COVID-19 containment efforts, Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum will temporarily close to the public, effective immediately. Evergreen joins other local attractions that have temporarily closed to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. All activities and programs at the Museum will be postponed. “In the interest of public health and safety, we are suspending normal Museum operations,” said John Rasmussen, Executive Director. ‘We are complying with the Governor’s requests to help limit exposure to the COVID-19 virus, especially among the most vulnerable in our community and beyond.” “This situation is rapidly changing, and we will continue to monitor developments related to COVID-19 and make decisions based upon the recommendations of public health agencies, including U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Yamhill County Public Health.” The Museum looks forward to resuming regular operations in the future, as health authorities allow.
