The Oregon Historical Society will offer special extended hours from Friday, February 14 through Monday, February 17, the final four days of its blockbuster “Windows on America” exhibit, which features more than 100 rare documents and artifacts from American history. OHS Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk said, “Windows on America has been one of the most successful exhibits in the 116 year history of OHS. By staying open until 7 PM each night over the long Presidents’ Day Weekend, we will give more Oregonians the chance to see this world-class exhibit.” Tymchuk also announced that four new items from the Mark Family Collection have recently been added to the exhibit. Those items include a pair of earrings and a locket worn by Martha Washington, a writing pen that belonged to Paul Revere, and a very rare copy of the Fourteen Points personally signed by President Woodrow Wilson on White House stationary. The Oregon Historical Society museum is open from 10 AM – 5 PM Monday through Saturday and Noon – 5 PM on Sunday. Hours of operation for Presidents’ Day Weekend are 10 AM – 7 PM February 14, 15, & 17, and Noon – 7 PM Sunday, February 16. Admission is free for Oregon’s birthday, February 14, and the Society’s quarterly Community Day on February 15. Visit WWW.OHS.ORG for special activities planned for those days. Regular museum admission is $11, and is free every day for Multnomah County residents.
