Structure Fire, CCSO news release. On February 7, 2018, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office and Coquille Police Department responded to 55803 Fairview Road to assist Coquille Fire Department with fire at a single family residence. The homeowner, Richard Martsch called 911 to report the fire after he lost control of a fire in his woodstove. The residence was fully involved and the Fire and Law Enforcement units were on scene for over four hours. Traffic on Fairview Road was reduced to one lane during the firefighting efforts. The initial investigation shows that the fire appears to have been accidental. Mr. Martsch was taken to Bay Area Hospital on a Director’s Hold for Coos Health and Wellness for a mental illness evaluation.
