Marshfield, Brookings-Harbor and Douglas each won games during Round 2 of the 2018 Far West League girl’s basketball race Tuesday night. The top-ranked visiting Lady Pirates beat their Bay Area Rivals North Bend 47-38, while Brookings-Harbor downed visiting Siuslaw 56-31, and Douglas won at home over South Umpqua 48-27. Marshfield and Brookings-Harbor are the only unbeaten teams at 2-0. Round 3, of ten, takes place Friday with South Umpqua (1-1, 7-8) at Marshfield (2-0, 14-2), Brookings-Harbor (2-0, 8-8) at North Bend (0-2, 4-11) and Siuslaw (0-2, 3-13) visits Douglas (1-1, 8-7).

Marshfield & Brookings-Harbor both won their 2018 Far West League boys’ basketball games Tuesday night to remain unbeaten after two rounds. The Pirates won at their rivals North Bend 65-39. Brookings-Harbor needed overtime to beat visiting Siuslaw 53-49, and Douglas took out visiting South Umpqua 58-48. Round 3 on Friday with South Umpqua (0-2, 4-11) at Marshfield (2-0, 10-6), Brookings-Harbor (2-0, 8-8) at North Bend (1-1, 7-8), and Siuslaw (0-2, 8-8) travels to Douglas (1-1, 6-9) in Winston.
