News release CCSO. On 05-21-17 at about 1:30pm, The Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Bridge Rural Fire Department and Myrtle Point Ambulance responded to an ATV accident that occurred on private property near mile post 4.5 on Sandy Creek road, east of Myrtle Point, Oregon. Steven R. Gutierrez, age 56, of Myrtle Point was found by a neighbor at the edge of his property, succumbed to injuries that he sustained from being ejected from his side by side ATV that had rolled over on top of him. Mr. Gutierrez, the only occupant, was not wearing a seat belt or a helmet and alcohol appears to be a factor. The accident is estimated to have occurred sometime the evening of 05-20-17 just after dark.
