News alert from the Oregon State Police: Troopers on scene Sunday morning, Dec. 28, Fatal vehicle – pedestrian collision on Hwy. 42 near milepost 60, about 3 miles west of the town of Tenmile, believe a man who was struck by a passing car was in the lane of travel. Preliminary investigation indicates that a man, identity withheld pending next of kin notification, was on the highway shoulder for several hours prior to moving onto the eastbound travel portion of the highway and being struck and killed by a red, 1999 Ford Taurus. The operator of the Taurus was not injured and has been cooperating with investigators. Troopers believe the man suffered from a medical disorder which may have disoriented him. The crash occurred at approximately 5:25 A.M.
