On Saturday, October 6, 2018, at approximately 6:52 PM. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on I-5 near milepost 170. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2001 Buick Le Sabre, operated by Seth Kamel (30) from Oakland, OR, was southbound on I-5 when for unknown reasons drifted into the median and struck the highway guardrail. Kamel was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The passenger, Linda Cole (71) from Roseburg, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
