On Monday, March 13, 2017 at approximately 7:08pm, Douglas County Emergency Communications received a 9-1-1 call from an individual reporting a single vehicle crash into a tree in the 3000-block of Hayhurst Road in Yoncalla. The Sheriff’s Office along with North Douglas Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that the single occupant, 71 year old Alice Crawford of Yoncalla, was deceased upon arrival. Crawford was wearing her safety belt at the time of the crash. Indications are that alcohol was a contributing factor. The crash is still under investigation by the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office. Next of kin has been notified.
