On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at approximately 3:53 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy 211 near milepost 19. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, operated by Jacob Slinkard (28) of Colton, was traveling northbound on Hwy 211 when for unknown reasons the Tacoma went off of the road and struck a tree. Slinkard sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hwy 211 was closed for approximately four hours following the crash.
