News Release Dougas Co. Sheriff’s Office. On Sunday, July 31, 2016, at about 12:15 p.m., the 911 center received a report of a badly injured female at the edge of the North Umpqua river, in the 26000 block of the North Umpqua Highway. Emergency personnel responded and located Sydney Craft, age 23 of Roseburg, at the edge of the river. Craft was deceased. Craft had been taking photographs of a male subject jumping into the river when she apparently slipped and fell approximately 90 feet to the river’s edge.
