In the early evening of September 6, 2017 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at 63714 Chamberlain Road in the Bunkerhill district of Coos Bay. The search warrant was to arrest Christopher Michael Bricker, 54 years old of that address for the crimes of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Menacing. The Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was formed in 1976 and is made up of officers from multiple agencies throughout Coos County including the North Bend Police Department, the Coos Bay Police Department, and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. This multijurisdictional, meaning members from different agencies, operates under the Sheriff. The ERT is a purely tactical unit today, but when formed it also had high angle rope rescue and a dive team as part of its duties. At approximately 7:00 PM members of the Coos County ERT made entry onto the property and arrested Bricker without incident. As a result of the search warrant, Christopher Bricker was arrested on three counts of felon in possession of a firearm. Three firearms were located inside the residence at on Chamberlain Rd. which were in The original investigation occurred on September 4 when Christopher Bricker called complaining of trespassers. In a series of incidents Bricker and neighbors had a neighborhood dispute where Christopher Bricker brandished a pistol menacing the neighbors. Because of this original crime, the search warrant for the arrest of Mr. Bricker was granted. Mr. Bricker was transported to the Coos County jail where he was booked into the facility. He is being held on $35,000 bail.
