The female who died while in custody at the Coos County Jail Oct. 31 has been identified as a 52-year old Medford resident. According to District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, Christina Lynn Ryan was found unresponsive in her jail cell during an early morning check. She had been incarcerated the day before by the Coquille Police Dept. on charges of Theft in the First Degree and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. An autopsy was conducted, but according to Frasier, “the preliminary findings reveal no definitive cause of death.” Toxicology tests will take several weeks. The Oregon State Police are investigating the death.
