Another step in the long permit-licensing process for the proposed Jordan Cove liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal for Coos Bay’s North Spit has been taken with the federal government’s release of the project’s environmental impact statement (EIS). The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released the document Friday, Nov. 7, which shows and describes the environmental impact if the facility is built across the bay from North Bend. The EIS offers a time line for the public to comment on it.
