A fifth-grade girl from Portland was swept out to sea north of Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach, on the North Oregon Coast Thursday, June 17. According to reports, Lily Markwell was found floating in the ocean by a US Coast Guard crew. She was brought to shore but pronounced deceased.
