The City of Coos Bay and the Coos Bay Fire Department is preparing for Fire Prevention Week. This year Fire Prevention Week will be October 5th thru October 11th. During this week, the Coos Bay Fire Department will be busy spreading this year’s message “Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month”. It is very important for every home to have a smoke alarm that is less than ten years old, and it is tested monthly to ensure that they are working properly. We would like to invite everyone to our open house to celebrate Fire Prevention Week. The open house will be held at Station No. 1 located at 450 Elrod Avenue from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on October 8th. There will be free food, games for kids, and lots of fire prevention and fire safety information. The City of Coos Bay and the Coos Bay Fire Department are committed to keeping the community safe. Please check our website and watch for announcements for future training opportunities on fire safety, CPR, and disaster preparedness. If you would like to reserve a seat or if you have questions, please call the Coos Bay Fire Department at 541-269-1191.
