Oregon Coast Community Action’s South Coast Food Share in partnership with the Oregon Food Bank are excited to announce Network Support Fund grant awards to food pantries in Coos and Curry Counties totaling $8,890.02 from Oregon Food Bank with a $1,069.92 match from Oregon Coast Community Action.  These grants will support pantries in their mission to ensure everyone in our communities have access to emergency food resources. These grant awards will support the following; The Nancy Devereux Center to purchase a commercial refrigerator, increasing their capacity to store fresh food and produce; Gold Beach Christian Helpers is replacing a desktop computer that has not functioned for some time. The pantry has been using a smart phone to manage and record activities. The pantry is also replacing refrigeration units needed to maintain safe food handling requirements; The Common Good of Port Orford to purchase of a stackable washer and dryer and to purchase a sink to wash produces grown in their garden; Brookings Harbor Community Helpers to support the cost of repairs to their van that was recently stolen and returned in bad shape; Bandon Restoration will be replacing three refrigeration units to allow for greater capacity and improve perishable food storage. Network Support Funds are funds available to food pantries in the Oregon Food Bank Network. Oregon Food Bank collects food from farmers, manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, individuals and government sources. We distribute that food through a Statewide Network of 21 Regional Food Banks and approximately 970 partner agencies serving all of Oregon and Clark County, Washington.
