The City of Coos Bay will be hosting Fourth of July in the Park again this year. The event will be July 4 from 11-2 all throughout Mingus Park. The goal is to bring the community together for a fun-filled family friendly event. The event will feature the Boy Scouts’ fundraiser hamburger stand, Coos County Posse and their horses, Coos Forest Protective Association with Smokey the Bear, ODF&W fishing, Front Street Community Bike Works, and many others. Mingus Park Pool will have free swimming from 2-4pm. And to finish the day, Coos Bay Fire Department will be shooting off fireworks of the bay at dusk. The Charleston Volunteer Firefighters will also have their annual Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast, 8 a.m. to noon, at the Fire Station on the Cape Arago Hwy.
