A free head and neck cancer screening will be held Saturday, Nov. 8, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the first floor lobby at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay. According to a news release, “head and neck cancers can affect your ability to speak, eat, drink, and swallow. If found early, however, they can be successfully treated. The free screening is quick and painless for the following: skin cancer of the face and scalp (including Melanoma); mouth cancer; thyroid cancer; and, neck cancer.
