Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston Visitor & Convention release – This year brings a new way to beat the traffic and parking for Holiday Lights at Shore Acres – a FREE Shuttle Bus! Santa’s Shuttle will run between the Charleston Marina and Shore Acres State Park Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, plus Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve, throughout the six weeks starting from Thanksgiving and leading up to New Year’s Eve. These wheelchair-accessible shuttles will depart from the marina every 20 minutes between 4:15pm and 8:00pm. Last shuttle will leave the marina at 8:00pm to give folks enough time to enjoy the lights before the park closes at 9pm. A Few More Details: There is no need to make a reservation for the shuttle. It will run on a first come, first served basis. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes or so (based on traffic conditions) from the marina to the park from 4:15pm to 8pm. The last shuttle to the park will be at 8pm since the park closes at 9pm and we want everyone to have enough time to enjoy the lights before they have to return to the Marina. All guests to the park must depart the park by 9pm, though shuttles may have to run a bit longer to get all passengers back to the Marina. Two shuttles will run – a 20-passenger and a 44-passenger, both are wheelchair-accessible. The shuttle is FREE of charge thanks to a grant from The Ford Family Foundation and the Coos Bay-North Bend-Charleston Visitor & Convention Bureau. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the enchanting lights display at Shore Acres. Make the most of the season and take a ride on our Santa’s Shuttle to experience the magic of Shore Acres State Park’s holiday lights show! Thanks to First Student Buses for their assistance with this project.
