The Coos County Friends of Public Health recognized 8 individuals at its 7th annual Recognition Luncheon on April 10th. “SuperStars” who were lauded for their volunteerism or contributions to a public health program were: • Stephan Groth, MD, for donating his time to provide reproductive health services for low income women at the Health Department’s Family Planning Clinic; • Donna Rabin, MD and Jon Yost, MD, for their medical guidance and leadership on the Community Connections Network, which coordinates care for children with special needs; • Tom Holt, DDS for his contributions to children’s dental health through the Ready to Smile program, and by creating the Neighborhood Dentist Program, which treats children with serious dental problems who have been identified through the schools; • Brent Pahls, DDS, Heidi Pahls, DDS, and Herman Pahls, DDS, for donating dental care to school age children through Ready to Smile and the Neighborhood Dentist program; and • Debbie Webb, for her volunteer service with the Coos County Friends of Public Health and for helping people with chronic conditions improve their lives through the Living Well Program. The Coos County Friends of Public Health is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works to enhance local public health services through education, advocacy, fund raising, and volunteerism.
