Fugitive Apprehended by Tactical Squad, Jan. 18

CCSO news release.  In the early morning hours of January 17, 2018 the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team was requested by the Bandon Police Department to assist with the apprehension of a fugitive wanted by the US Marshal Service. Beginning on the evening of January 16, 2018 information was developed from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office regarding the location of a bank robbery suspect in the Bandon area. The Bandon Police Department investigated this information and determined this to be correct. This suspect was being investigated for robberies of banks in Waldport on December 29, 2017and in Port Orford on December 9, 2017. Investigation through the night showed Stanley Carl Green, 55 of Yakima, Washington, was camped in a tent at Bullards State Park north of Bandon. The information was a firearm was used in the robbery in Waldport so the Bandon Police requested the assistance of the Coos County Emergency Response Team. Mr. Green also had warrants for his arrest from the state of Washington for failure to appear and Escape for Robbery out of Thurston County, Washington. The Emergency Response Team apprehended the subject without incident and he was transported to the Coos County Jail where he is being held on the fugitive warrants. The Coos County Emergency Response Team is a multi agency tactical team made up of members of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, Coos Bay Police Department, and the North Bend Police Department. The Bandon Police is lead agency on the warrant service. The operation was further supported by Oregon State Police and the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team. The investigation into the robbery in Waldport is ongoing and being led by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the robbery on Port Orford is being led by the Port Orford Police Department. As this is an ongoing investigation, all further press requests will be referred to those agencies.
