Marshfield’s boys are on top of the 4A Far West League basketball race at the halfway point. Defending champion North Bend is one game back of the Pirates following Friday night’s games. Marshfield won at Brookings-Harbor 48-22, while North Bend handled Douglas at home, 81-72. Siuslaw beat visiting South Umpqua 48-46. The league has a bye on Tuesday. Next Friday, Siuslaw (1-4, 9-10) travels to Marshfield (5-0, 13-6), So. Umpqua (0-5, 4-14) at North Bend (4-1, 10-8), and Brookings-Harbor (3-2, 9-10) goes to Douglas (2-3, 7-11).
