South Umpqua moved into the lead in the 4 Far West League softball race following a doubleheader sweep (8-1, 27-1) at Douglas in Winston Friday. The Lancers won     North Bend (4-2) swept (15-4, 10-0) visiting Marshfield to move into a tie with Brookings-Harbor (4-2) for second place, one back of SU (5-1).  The Bruins split at home (15-14, 5-16) with Siuslaw.  The Lady Pirates (3-3) are alone in fourth, with Siuslaw (2-4) is fifth and Douglas (0-6) sixth.  Week three has Marshfield matched up with So. Umpqua, and North Bend against Brookings-Harbor.  On Tuesday, So. Umpqua plays at Marshfield, Brookings-Harbor is at North Bend, and Siuslaw goes to Douglas.

North Bend swept two 4A Far West League baseball games at Marshfield in Coos Bay Friday, 21-1, 10-3.  The Bulldogs are alone in first place (5-0) and will take on second place Brookings-Harbor (5-1) in Week 3.  The Bruins bettered Siuslaw, 13-3, 18-2 in Florence, while Douglas and So. Umpqua split in Tri City, 11-1 Lancers in game 1, and 10-8 Trojans in game 2.  Week three has North Bend at Brookings-Harbor on Tuesday, Marshfield (1-5) at So. Umpqua (1-4) and Douglas (3-3) goes to Florence to play Siuslaw (2-4).
