General Education Development Passing Score Lowered, Feb. 10

You may have earned your General Education Development (GED) diploma and not know it! Due to the high rigor of the GED Tests, the GED Testing Service has lowered the passing score on GED exams from 150 to 145. This means, if you have taken an exam and scored in the 145-149 range, you have passed that GED exam! The great news for some GED tests takers is that with the new GED passing score, you may have already earned your GED. The GED Testing Service has indicated that students who have retroactively passed the GED will get a copy of their transcript and certificate on, or shortly after, March 1, 2016. Any tests that are taken currently will now only require a score of 145 to pass. This means you may have your GED, or you may be closer to it than you think! If you have any questions regarding the changes to the GED passing score, or if you want to take classes to finish your GED, contact Southwestern’s Transitional Education program at 541-888-1593. Congratulations to those who now have their GED!
