Accompanied by local elected officials, dignitaries and fellow Democrats, Oregon’s Governor Kate Brown enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the South Coast as she toured the railroad swing bridge on the Coos Bay Channel, visited with students at Marshfield High School, and attended the opening of the new Coos History Museum. The museum was the centerpiece of the Portland Democrat’s visit and a large crowd turned out for the opening with vehicles parked in every possible spot east and west of the 5,000 square foot museum on the Coos Bay waterfront. There were plenty of smiles and nods of approval for the new facility that holds over 200 historical artifacts.
