News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On January 17, 2016, at about 1204 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Charleston area following multiple reports of a male subject trespassing in businesses and attempting to steal alcohol. Sheriff’s Deputies and a Coquille Tribal Police Officer responded to the area and the Tribal officer located the subject and detained him while an investigation was conducted. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that 32 year old Justin Schaefer of Coos Bay had entered into the Fisherman’s Grotto, Davey Jones Locker, The Old General Store and the Lighthouse Market and had been asked to leave and not return to all 4 locations. While at the Davey Jones Locker, it was learned that Mr. Schaeffer had gone into the store and harassed the store owner, 35 year old Travis Warnock. It was further discovered that Justin Schaeffer had returned to Davey Jones Locker after being previously trespassed. Justin Schaeffer was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail where he was cited and released to the jail staff on the charges of Criminal Trespass II and Harassment.
