News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On March 22, 2015, at about 1620 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 50310 Highway 101 in Bandon for a reported dispute. Deputies arrived and located a male and a juvenile female that were involved in a dispute. Through an investigation, Deputies learned the male, Matthew Houglum, had pushed a 15 year old juvenile female to the ground and threatened her. The female said she feared for her life from Matthew and thought he was going to hurt her. Deputies arrested Matthew Houglum, 41 years old of Bandon, for the above listed charges and transported him to the Coos County Jail.
