“Health & Fitness Walk”, April 23

The Coos County Women’s Health Coalition will be hosting their 10th annual Health & Fitness event on Saturday, May 12, 2018.  The FREE walk is open to all and is sponsored by the Zonta Club of Coos Bay Area, the Coos County Women’s Health Coalition, Southwestern Oregon Community College, Bay Area Hospital, Oregon State University Extension Family & Community Health, Bay Cities Ambulance and South Coast Striders. The goal of the Women’s Health Coalition is to promote healthy lifestyles for the women of Coos County by providing educational information on women’s issues and encouraging healthy activities for the entire family.   The event is from 10 am to 1 pm at Pony Village Mall in North Bend.   The event will include speakers, exhibitors, fitness demonstrations, power stations, music, raffle prizes and more! Over 250 walkers and 20 exhibitors participated in last year’s event.  We are excited to announce that a new component has been added to this year’s event!  Power stations and demonstrations will enable walkers to learn proper techniques of various health-related activities. Interested in being an event exhibitor/vendor?  Non-profit based agencies are free; other vendors are $15/table. Location will be assigned on a first-come basis so request your exhibitor/vendor application packet today by contacting Deb Nicholls at dnicholls@socc.edu, 541-888-7400.
