Heat Headed to Coast, July 28

According to the NOAA Weather Briefing, Eastern Coos County will be experiencing hot dry weather with temperatures in the 85-95 degree range. Here is an excerpt from the briefing. Extreme heat will affect the Coast, inland valleys west of the Cascades, and in Siskiyou County valleys Wednesday through Saturday. Not only is the magnitude of the heat significant, but the expected number of consecutive days with very high daytime temperatures in West Side valleys is also noteworthy. In summary, we are forecasting a heat event that occurs only once every 5 years. No sharp cooling trend is expected in the foreseeable future.
