Heroin, April 26

Travis Ln./Barview, CCSO report – On April 25, 2019 at approximately 1:50 a.m. a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Travis Lane near S. Barview Road in Coos County as a result of witnessing several traffic violations. The Deputy contacted the driver who was identified as 35 year old Kyle L. Golden of Coos Bay. A record check of Mr. Golden revealed he was Suspended – Misdemeanor, making it a crime for him to be driving the vehicle. Mr. Golden acted in a suspicious manner during the traffic stop and subsequently left the location after being given a court date for driving and being told his vehicle would be towed as he could not legally drive in Oregon. After Mr. Golden left the area, Deputies observed Heroin in plain sight inside the vehicle. Deputies called for the assistance of Coos County K-9 Odin to conduct a criminal apprehension track. Odin located Mr. Golden about two blocks away. Mr. Golden was taken into custody without incident. Mr. Golden was transported to the Coos County Jail on the charges of DWS (Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Heroin. Additional charges are possible after deputies apply for a search warrant to search the vehicle Mr. Golden was driving. This apprehension marks K-9 Odin’s 81st capture as a patrol K-9 with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
