Heroin Possession, Feb. 24

On Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 2:20 am, a deputy was patrolling the area of Valley Drive in Myrtle Creek when he noticed a silver 2004 Ford Expedition leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver increased their speeds and failed to stop. The deputy initiated a pursuit, which ultimately ended at the end of Bills Road when the driver crashed into a fence. The total distance was approximately 10 miles. The female driver fled from the vehicle and was detained after a short foot pursuit. She was later identified as 24 year-old Whitney N. Atterbury of Roseburg. Atterbury was arrested for Attempt to Elude-Vehicle, Attempt to Elude-Foot, Reckless Driving, Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Criminal Mischief I, Criminal Mischief II, Offensive Littering and Parole Violation. Atterbury was lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
