High-Winds, Dry Conditions, Sept. 8

High winds and dry conditions not only spell extreme fire danger but could bring trees down onto the highways.  Travelers returning home Monday on the last day of the three-day Labor Day weekend should use great caution and be extra aware of road conditions. High winds and extremely dry conditions could mean more trees falling into the highways. Motorists should keep their hot vehicles away from dry grass, make sure chains aren’t dragging and causing sparks and never throw flammable materials out the window. Remember, the devastating Eagle Creek Fire of 2017 was caused by a single, legal piece of fireworks.
