The Historic Assessment Review Committee will meet at 9:30 am on October 16 at the North Mall Office Building, 725 Summer Street NE, Room 124, Salem. Agenda items will include overview and highlights of the 2017 Special Assessment Property Tax benefit period, review of policy and procedures, Secretary of Interior Standards, and discussion on the future of the program which sunsets in 2020. The committee will invite public comments. State law established the five-member Historic Assessment Review Committee to be the review body for appeals from property owners participating in the Special Assessment Property Tax Program for Historic Properties.
