CBPD release – On Thursday March 21, 2019, at about 12:00PM Coos Bay Police responded to Walmart for a reported vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Officers responded and learned a late 90’s to early 2000’s dark blue Toyota 4Runner SUV with an out of state license plate hit a 68 year old female while the vehicle was backing out of a parking spot. The male operator got out and yelled at the female. He and his female passenger fled the parking lot without rendering aid to the injured female, as required by state law. The injured lady suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash, but is in stable condition. The Coos Bay Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of the vehicle 39 year old Michael Hays and the passenger 25 year old Dannielle Stewart. Mr. Hays is described as a white male adult approximately 5-7” 155lbs, short brown hair and facial hair, blue eyes, with tattoos on his arms and hands. Ms. Stewart is described as a slender female about 5-5” to 5-8” with dark in color hair.
