Homicide in North Bend, Aug. 3

Coos Co. DA news release – On August 2, 2021, at approximately 3:27 AM, the North Bend Police Department received a 911 call indicating that there was some sort of a medical emergency at 3721 Stanton Avenue in North Bend, Oregon. Police and medical personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival the police found a deceased adult male inside. The person has injuries indicating he had died from homicidal violence. The person is identified as 45 year old Craig Joshua Jackson, who was a physician at Bay Clinic in Coos Bay. The Coos County Major Crimes Team was activated. Personnel from the North Bend Police Department, Coquille Police Department, Coos County Sheriff’s Office, the Oregon State Police, and the Coos Bay Police Department responded. North Bend Police will be the lead agency on this case. Currently the police, with the assistance of the Oregon State Police Forensic Laboratory and the Eugene Police Department, are processing the scene. The police are currently interviewing the spouse of Dr. Jackson, who is identified 37 year old Yen Zhou. Preliminary information from Ms. Zhou is that two unknown males entered the home and engaged in a physical confrontation with Dr. Jackson resulting in his death. They then fled the scene.
