The Coos Co. District Attorney’s Office has released the name of the victim of a homicide Sunday, August 14, on Ross Inlet, east of Coos Bay. According to DA R. Paul Frasier, the victim has been identified as 64-year old Richard Perkins, who resided at the residence where his body was discovered in the front yard. Investigators have developed a person of interest and are looking for 36-year old Lucas Mark Perkins, the victim’s nephew who also resided at the residence. A 2012 Mazda hatchback, registered to Richard Perkins, is missing. It is described as a MZ3 four-door hatchback, silver & gray in color, with an Oregon license plate 401 FXN. Anyone with information is urged to contact local police.
