UO release – EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon center fielder Bryce Boettcher has been named to the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team, Rawlings Baseball announced on Twitter this Wednesday morning. Boettcher, a senior from Eugene, finished the season with a 1.000 fielding percentage committing no errors in 142 chances. The two-sport athlete had six assists, one shy of the school record for an outfielder, while flawlessly finishing with 136 putouts. Boettcher made 54 starts in center field with Oregon compiling a 36-18 record in those starts. An honorable mention all-conference pick, Boettcher was also named to the Pac-12 Conference All-Defensive Team in May. Boettcher’s play in center field featured a number of highlight plays during the season, including robbing a pair of home runs while making six diving catches. He finished his career fourth all-time in outfield assists at Oregon with nine, despite only being a full-time starter as a senior. Boettcher’s Gold Glove marks the second consecutive season Oregon has had a gold glove winner and the fifth overall. He is the second Oregon outfielder to win a gold glove, joining Austin Grebeck (2016). Oregon has had a finalist for a gold glove in six of the last 10 seasons with two in 2023.
