Hoppe Resigns from VCB
News release form Katherine Hoppe, Director of Promotions & Convention for the Coos Bay – North Bend Visitor Convention Bureau. “Sometimes when you open yourself up to opportunity, it has a way of presenting itself. The time has come for me to take on a new challenge and for a new director to lead the VCB. Yesterday, I gave my notice of resignation as the Director of the Coos Bay – North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau. No organization is made up of one person, the VCB has been around for 25 years and has survived many director changes and will do so again. In the coming weeks, the board of directors will decide how to proceed and begin the search for a new director. More information will follow after the regularly scheduled board meeting on February 18th. I want you to know what an absolutely pleasure it’s been getting to represent this area for the past 8 years. Together we have a accomplished a great many things and I am grateful for your support all this time. I firmly believe our area is one of the best destinations on the coast because we work so well together. The VCB has served as a great example of how our three communities can work together for the greater good. I thank you for entrusting me for the past eight years. Even though I will no longer be with the VCB, I will do everything I can to make myself available to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible and that the VCB continues to be a force in tourism and continues to add to the economy of the area. Thank you for allowing me to serve in this role of promoting the best cities on the Oregon Coast.”
