Thursday, May 9, was one of those rare weather days on the South Coast. You could tell first thing in the morning with light warm breeze out of the East. That continued all day until the thermometer at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport struck 82-degrees just before noon. That was enough to break an 88-year old Bay Area Record for the day. Depending upon where you were in Coos County Thursday, reports came in showing 80s, 90s & even 100 in some valleys. We weren’t the only record breakers. Florence hit 91, Newport 84 and Astoria 83. Not as warm today. Winds begin out of the East, but switch back to the cold Northwest by afternoon.
