Temperatures soared along the Oregon Coast Friday, Sept. 5. One of the weather reporting stations for the Bay Area showed a high of 107.2. Newport had a high of 91 degrees on the Central Coast. Brookings avoided the hot weather with a fog bank that locked onto the far South Oregon Coast community early in the day leaving it with highs in the 50s.
