Hwy. 101 north of Reedsport near milepost 206 was closed for approximately 2 hours Saturday, Feb. 15, after 15 – 20 trees fell or were leaning toward the highway. ODOT and the Oregon State Police responded to the scene. ODOT continues to monitor the situation and was working on removing the trees. Traffic updates were posted on ODOT’s website TripCheck.com. Highway 34 about two miles east of Waldport was also blocked. Other coastal area roads also had some traffic restrictions. Motorists on Hwy. 101 were asked to slow down, drive with caution and watch for debris in the roadway. High water and trees in the roadway were reported in several areas along the Coastal route between Brookings and Astoria. The conditions consisted into Sunday.
