U.S. Highway 101 motorists should expect weekday lane closures and brief delays 10 miles south of Port Orford as construction begins Monday, April 3, on Reinhart Creek Bridge. Work is scheduled for daylight hours, Monday through Friday, and will continue until late July. Flaggers will provide traffic control. All lanes will be open at night and on weekends. The upcoming $11.7 million project will paint the steel sections of two bridges along the southern Oregon coast. Reinhart Creek Bridge (milepost 311.4) is scheduled first. Construction on Thomas Creek Bridge, located about five miles north of Brookings at milepost 347.8, will begin in August and continue for about two years. A recently completed project replaced the rail and made other repairs to both bridges.
