City of North Bend release – Expect delays and a shift to timer-based signals through May as construction adds new lanes and pedestrian paths, enhancing safety and flow. Heads up to all North Bend road warriors! Brace yourselves for a bit of a squeeze when you’re cruising through the U.S. 101 and East Bay Road intersection starting now until May 2024. The Oregon Department of Transportation is kicking off some major upgrades here – think new lanes for turning, safer walks for pedestrians, and a shiny new traffic signal by the north side of the McCullough Bridge. Circle March 19 on your calendars, folks! That’s when the magic begins, and ODOT’s trusty traffic signals go old school with timers instead of those high-tech sensors. U.S. 101’s going to get the VIP treatment to keep traffic flowing, but if you’re coming from East Bay Road, you might need a little patience (or a good podcast) as wait times could stretch beyond a single light cycle. But don’t worry, this is all part of the plan to make your drives smoother down the line. By May, ODOT will have the latest tech back in action with new signal poles up and running. Big shoutout to HP Civil, Inc. for spearheading this $1.96 million facelift, all set to wrap up this summer. Need the deets?
