One person is deceased and two other injured in crash on SR Hwy 18 near milepost (MP) 28. On Saturday August 16, 2015 at approximately 7:57 AM, a white Chevrolet Malibu, was traveling eastbound on SR Hwy 18 near MP 28 when the vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Mr. Jose Bermudez Gutierrez (age 30) from Portland,was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The right rear passenger, identified as Mr. Brian Quintana (age 22) from Portland, was transported to OHSU with critical injuries. The right front passenger, identified as Mr. Juan Bermudez Gutierrez (age 21) from Portland, was pronounced deceased at the scene. It was determined Mr. Jose Bermudez Gutierrez and Mr. Juan Bermudez Gutierrez were brothers. Alcohol and Marijuana use are being investigated as contributing factors of the crash.
