On Friday, October 2, 2020 at approximately 5:53 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 199 at milepost 30. Preliminary investigation revealed that a GMC Sierra, operated by Donald Uhler (63) of Gold Beach, was southbound on Hwy 199 when for unknown reasons it veered into the northbound lane and collided with a Dodge Ram, operated by Gary Zahniser (65) of Janesville, CA. Uhler and Zahniser both sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased.
