On Monday April 09, 2018 at about 8:00 a.m., Oregon State Police and emergency personal responded to a two vehicle head- on crash. The crash resulted in a single fatality and serious injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed a 2005 Kia Sorento, driven by Tarah J. Fair (age 27 from Redmond), was traveling westbound when it lost control on the icy roadway surface. The Kia crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2008 Nissan Sentra, driven by Michael T Hunt (age 37 from Tualatin). Hunt was pronounced deceased at the scene. Fair was transported to St. Charles in Bend with serious injuries. Hwy 22, eastbound lane, was closed for approximately 5 hours with one lane of travel open for traffic.
