On Monday, July 19, 2021 at approximately 12:50 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 30 near milepost 87. Preliminary investigation revealed a Mazda Protege, operated by Joshua Johns (36) of Westport, OR. was eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided with a Kia Sorento operated by Joe Houston (63) of Ocean Park, WA. Johns sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH). The passenger, Danielle Hammer (40) of Westport, was transported to CMH for injuries. Houston and passenger, Kathryn Matthai (53) of Ocean Park, were both transported to CMH for injuries.
